Re: Recommended Under-rated games for DS
first off he really hasn't played that many games on the DS if he's amazed by a Trap game. There are literally thousands of them. Also he compared it to Saw showing that he really hasn't seen that many Trap dramas on TV or in movies either. I know that America doesn't have many of that genre but it's nothing new. They date back to the 1880s or possibly older because the genre was difficult to define back then, cinema has done it since the 40s, TV has done it since the 60s and games have done it since the 70s. That makes Trap genre older than platformers dude.
Crime drama, see previous statement.
Possession genre, yes that's a genre. If you don't believe me then you've missed an awful lot of games out there, especially on the DS and despite popular belief this was by no means the first. There was in fact one as a launch title for the Atari ZX Spectrum.
Oh boy. Another of the NN Dungeon series that for some reason has its own title instead of a number in the west. if you are planning on playing any of the games in the series you are going to be very confused. Most of the games rely on you having played the previous one in the series or at least they come in bunches of 7 to 9 games at a time before the next one does a recap. It is literally the most screwed up series ever when ported over to the west with characters dying in one game to turn up alive in the next or characters changing gender from one game to the next or characters claiming to be the twin brother of another character then walking of screen for a second and coming back as the twin in multiple points in the game. it's a fantastic series but bar learning japanese yourself and getting the canon version or getting illegally translated versions online you have no hope of knowing what the hell is going on in this series. also NND came out in the 70s so it's a little bit older than chrono trigger dude.
that sega game is actually a game of an anime not a game that looks like an anime. didn't sell well in japan because it wasn't too close to the source material.
a point blank ripoff next. no not that point blank. the one that's actually called point blank in its original language. find it on DS. it's hella fun i've heard.
can't dis Cheermen or "Oendan" series. The anime is awesome too. Look out for the obvious rip-off of Johnny Bravo from Cartoon Network. I shit you not. It's blatant as hell.
the plankton thing. did you know it was a free flash game for PC first? they removed the online version to sell it on DS. you can still find the original flash game around the internet though. they only took it down from their official website and not any of the places they hosted it on.
MnM has tons of great games. Most people have never heard of them bar their Wizards of the Coast spin-off series. And by the way, they're an american game series not japanese.
henry hatsworth was a fan game of another series that got bought by microsoft's monopolizing assholes. then they abandoned it in favor of some stupid other DS game that didn't sell well that MS thought was great. It nearly didn't go to market until the PC version started getting loads of people playing it so they shut down the PC flash game and ported it to DS. unfortunately they expected everyone who'd played the flash game to buy the DS title without even telling anyone that they'd released it and only releasing it countries that didn't play the flash game. what dumbasses.

i've been trying to follow the NK series. it gets way better after atlas took over. G-War spin-off series is also cool. Pity none of the apps are built for my smart phone
