Is Virtual Reality the way forward for gaming?
Of course everyone is asking this question and here is some information to get you thinking.
Quite a lot of us already know about Sony's take on this new innovation idea
but not everyone seems to like it (he talks about it later in the video)
https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/explore/playstation-vr/
Microsoft is thinking about making their own virtual reality, to compete with the Playstation VR no doubt!
http://www.windowscentral.com/anticipated-microsoft-e3-2016-announcements
by the way, I only watched a few seconds of this video to check its legit and already he sounds like an absolute pretentious TWAT!
everyone thought Nintendo would be getting in on this trend
but it seems Nintendo won't be joining in on the action
http://kotaku.com/what-we-want-from-the-new-nintendo-nx-console-1693772301
plus there is a new VR in the market which people are thinking is pretty promising! Also it is partnered with Steam and that is just SWEET!
https://www.htcvive.com/uk/
and then of course the one that started it all, the Oculus Rift!
https://www.oculus.com/en-us/
although it seems it isn't always well received
https://www.technologyreview.com/s/601375/the-nauseating-disappointment-of-oculus-rift/
so what do you guys think about all of this? Does the whole idea seem stupid to you?
But which is better?
There is only one way to find out!
Re: Is Virtual Reality the way forward for gaming?
vr is the future in the purest sense of the word. it is a definite goal to adhere to and the potential for games is absolutely amazing. However, even though the motion sensors, high def screen, surround sound headphones and immersive graphics are there, the big problem is the game developers themselves. Nobody quite knows how to use it right and with first party businesses still dominating the market, in the sense of dominion rather than population, there wont be any real exploration into what it can do. Just like motion sensing controllers could have been amazing, the opportunity was brushed over for the sake of making a trend they could popularize to make you buy stuff. The future is here but big businesses don't want you to know about it. They just want you to keep using the same tired old formula because it's cheap to make rather than exploiting a technological revolution.

You have to start somewhere though. Getting PS VR out there is a big step and i think will probably be the best seller out of the bunch being that 40 million people already have the hardware to run it. Not everyone has a high end gaming pc or the cash to throw down on the vive on top of it. I think once PS VR hits we'll probably see alot more developers trying new and different things to take advantage of VR. At least i hope. Im interested in VR and the potential of it but also a little worried it could just be a fad. I pre ordered the PS VR and im interested in a couple games like Golem! So i guess we'll see how it plays out come October!

first the first party businesses will dominate the market and then they will abandon the tech. people will assume it was just a fad and move on. just like furbies and artificial intelligence in toys.

I guess it wouldn't surprise me to see Sony abandon their own tech like Vita. PS4 is barely getting first party support if you compare it PS3, they even came out and said so. Been kinda bummed about that aince i usually buy each system for the exclusives. I've honestly had more fun with my Wii U this gen than i have PS4 or Xbone.
