really stretching the boundaries of what is defined as a game here, it is the progression of the Mafia Wars series. A browser based game where you progress by scheduling different tasks to get requirements for further tasks. Sounds boring as hell and it certainly lack in visual prowess but as a generally progressive regular task it's okay. More about the progress than the prowess its a devil for the obsessive personalities but can be a neat little pick me up or time waster. Other than competing against friends it can be difficult to define as entertainment but there's a definite sense of accomplishment through its hierarchical pyramid scheme progression system.

progression should really be an element of gameplay not the entire feature

but isn't progression the entire feature of every game? You don't play a game to not achieve anything...oh wait
