Writing Weekly Task
I'm afraid their won't be the month competition or year competition available until we have more members but for now we can do the weekly little tasks.
This weeks task is...
- Read your first story over again (or earliest one you can remember)
I know it isn't about writing but reading is also important for a writer and reading up on your old writing really puts things into perspective and shows how far you have come you are free to discuss this topic as much as you wish below. Have a nice week everybody!

Re: Writing Weekly Task
I am not one for reading much anymore and I don't really have the time this week to read the entire book over but I have read the first chapter of my first ever book I read all the way through legit. It was part of a school project we were doing in English and BOY was it a good story! Can you guess? no...not Romeo and Juliet...nor Hamlet....
Of Mice and Men!
yeah a pretty hardcore story to start with eh? BUT an awesome one! We were also treated to watching the movie as well which is a good rendition of the book and I cried so HARD! I tried so hard to keep my tears in check my throat was really sore for hours after. I don't know how I managed it lol. No-one else seemed bothered though. WHAT?! You cruel cruel people!
I have read the first chapter just today and I realised I still can hardly understand the long sentences and the accents lol is that bad?
Anyone else read that story? What do you think of the ending? Did you like the 90s or 2000s (can't remember which but not modern one and not black and white one. The one inbetween) movie? let me know!
The first story I ever wrote myself was a flip book I drew and made myself with paper, glue, pencil and colouring pencils. It was called 'The Rainbow Icecream' and its a shame I can't show you coz the school nicked it! but basically I made it as part of a club at school to read to the smaller kids in the school next door to ours. My story was about a girl and boy who wanted to see a rainbow and there would be pages where you would have to open flaps to see if the rainbow was under it. Then when you found the rainbow you would turn the page and find it again on the next page. In the end, they lost the rainbow but the mother gave them a rainbow icecream instead. Rather clever for my age when I think about it. I also wrote something possibly even earlier than that where I talked about my family and lets just say it involved a lot of unfortunate misspellings of the word Asperger's.
